Tallow is rendered beef fat one of the oldest skincare ingredients on the planet. Its fatty acid profile is remarkably similar to human skin oils, which means it doesn't just sit on top it absorbs deeply and actually nourishes. Does it smell like beef?
There's a very faint, natural earthy scent from the tallow — mild, subtle, and it fades within minutes. The unscented version has no added fragrance at all. The lavender version is scented with lavender essential oil.
How should I store it?
Keep it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Avoid getting water into the jar there are no preservatives, so moisture can cause issues. If it softens or melts in warm weather, don't worry. it's still perfectly fine to use. Just let it re-solidify at room temperature.
